TRAMWAY EXTENSION.
Sir, —Tho City . Council has authorised the extension of the Waterloo. Quay tramway to- the new ferry wharf. I infer that we are not to wait for the completion of the general 6cheme in connection with the proposed new railway station. "If that is so, unless wo connected Lambton Quay by tramway, too, tho travelling ■ public would find iteelf marooned, as the great bulk of passenger traffic makes for Lambton Quay, where the principal hotel accommodation is to he found. No doubt this would suit the cabbies, I would respectfully suggest that the part of the general scheme affecting traffic to Lambton Quay, be also carried out. For instance) the extension of Stout Street and the tramway along it to link up the wharves with Lambton Quay—l am, etc., PROGRESS. Wellington. March 24, 1916.
