SUMMARY AND FORECAST AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY, Present indications are for moderate to 6trong winds, backing to ■ northerlics, northward of New Plymouth dud Napier, and increasing northerlics elsewhere. Expect cloudy and hazy conditions generally, and rain following shortly on the West Coast and in southern districts. Barometer falling everywhere for a westerly disturbance likely to prevail in the nert 56 to 42 hours. A storm .area has been in evidence off East Cape, ' and rain has fallen on the East Coast of the North Island, but fair to oloudy weather lias ruled elsewhere.
