Department, Christchurch, is a son of a captain in tho Royal Navy, and with his and Mrs. Smith's relatives they, have some twenty to thirty representatives on active service in,tho two services. An old resident of Wellington, Mr. William Watt, died at his residence, 46 Clydo' Quay, after a short illness last evening. Mr. Watt, who was 70 years of ago, is one of the old school of ishipwrights, and was very well known and respected among shipping workers : in. Wellington.
