Many magnificent gifts have been made to patriotic societies, and with the object of realising to .the utmost value on tlieso gifts the various societies havo held art unions. The Dannevirke Patriotic Society insert an advertisement in this issue drawing attention to the SizaireBerwiek motor-car which they are raffling.' This car, the French liolls Koyce was recontly landed in New Zealand by Messrs. Knight Bros., at a cost of a thousand pounds, and the society are offering the tickets at ss. each, and horo that by inducing as many of the public as .possible to give ss. towards the fund a very large sum of money- will be raised for so laudable an object. Few people will miss the five shillings, and as much rnoney will be needed [ 0 r tile relief of distress-it behoves all to do their best
