Tan military boots at 28s. 6d. It will pay you to inspect this line at Geo, Fowltls, Ltd., Manners Street.—Advt. 4. NEW ZEALAND ENGINEER'S PKfc VATE OPINION OP THE STUD& BAKEE. TiTe Tourist ilotor Co., Hastings, know. Ing that we are closely interested in Studebaker motors, have forwarded to us a copy of a ioß"tliy business letter sent them by Mr. Allaii H. M'Leau, the engineer of theiT firm, who is at present in Detroit, investigating tljo claims of tho 1516 models « the great American automobile manufacturers. The Tourist Mo- ' tor Co. have very courteously given us permission to publish extracts from tha letter, and wo extract the following paragraph as likely to interest owners and prospective owners of Studebaker cars:— "My holiest opinion about tho Studebaker car is that it is tho best value for money on tho American market, and as far as ImisSi and workmanship arc concerned it is second to none. I consider that we would be foolish to take up the agency for any higher priced car that is built here, because if wo repaint the Studebaker and equip it with wire wheels It would be equal to the Minerva in appearance and quietness of running. The engine is the cleanest designed one that I Vuivb inspected." It may bo explained that Mr. M'Lean's mission to America was to secure tho agency of a high-priced American car to take the place of the firm's Silent Knight Minerva agency. There is a good market in Hawko'a Bay for the very best car obtainable, regardless of price. Mr. M'Lean's honest opinion regarding tho Studebaker is that therj is no American car on the market better than the Studebaker at any price. Th« five-soater touring Studebaker (4-cylinder, 25 h.p.), .with electric self-starter and eleotrio lights, sells in New Zealand for ,£345 file threc-seater Studebaker, with same equipment, being priced at Adams .Ltd., N.Z.
