The Shaw-Savill liner Zealandic, whicß left Liverpool for New Zealand, via Cape Town and Australian ports on December 21. arrived at Lyttelton at 4.30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. She is expected to showup here about the end of the weok. RIVERINA FROM SYDNEY. After a calm passage from Sydney the lliverina- arrived in port at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon, and berthed at the Jervois Quay Wharf. She left Sydney at 3 p.m. oil Thursday last, and experienced a good run until Sunday morning, when sho naid to slow down on account of fog. Sho brought 978 tons of cargo. She is expected to sail for Lyttelton at 6 p.m. to-day. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. K. Campbell, wireless operator of the Moana, ha«s transferred to tho Mararua. Mr. C. C. Bullock, chief officer of tho Corinna, has been compelled to come ashore on account of injuries to one of his feet. Mr. J. Neville has joined the Mapourika an purser. Mr. D. A. Butler, purser of the Maori has come ashore for a time. Mr. M. M'Leod, chiof steward "f *hi) Corinna, having comu Rfihoro on sick leave, Mi'. J. W. Elworthy has joined the vessel ae chief steward pro tem. The Wootton loft for Nydia Bay yesterday to load timber for Lyttelton. Tho liner. Indrapura is expected in port on Wednesday from Napier. The Shaw-Savill liner Kumara, which left London on January 7, arrived in Auckland yesterday morning. She should show up here about. March 6. . ~ .. The Westport Coal Company's collier Canopus is scheduled to leave for Westport to-morrow. From Westport sho will journey to Auckland. To load for Wellington the Union Company's collier Komata. left last night for Westport. Sho should return on Thursday. The Karu is due in port this afternoon from Lyttelton. She is listed to sail for New Plymouth to-morrow.
The Monowai is due in Wellington from Napier early this morning. She: ha 6 540 tons of cargo to discharge here before sailing south. Captain Robertson, of the new F. and S. liner Devon, now in port, has aesociated with him the following officers;-Chief, Mr. H. E. B. Field; eccond, Mr. 0. Thomas; third, Mr. W. Staddart; fourth, Mr. M. I). Williams; chief engineer, Mr. 0. M. Thom; second, Mr. E. Cole; third, Air. D. M'Lean: wireless operator, Mr. )V. A. Johnson; purser, Mr. 0. S. Harvey. The vessel Is scheduled to leave about daybreak on Friday morntns ■ The Waitomo, which was to hav«,lofl. foj* Sydney with the balance of her Vancouver cargo last night, will now, it is expected sail about 10 o'clock this morning.
The discharge of the local portion of tho Baron Ogilvy 6 cargo of oil will, it is thought, be completed, in time to alloff the vessel to sail either to-day or to-morrow for Napier and Auckland to complete discharge. It is stated that the steamer Volga, which was reported to be about to lonri oano-oi/ at New York for New Zealand, will Dot now come to tho Dominion. Owing to the uncertainty of the arrival in port of tho Union Co.'s collier Karu from Lyttclton to-day, the time of her departure for New Plymouth to-night cannot definitely be stated.
