PORT OF WELLINGTON
MEETING OF THE BOARD, The ordinary meeting of the Wellington Harbour Board was held last night. There wero present: Messrs. C. E. Daniell (chairman), C. W. Jones, H. L. Nathan, J. G. Harkness, W. Cable, R. A. Wright, M.P., W. T. Hildreth, J. W. M'Eivan, A. MacFarlane, R. E. Sinclair, M. Cohen, and R. Fletcher. On the motion of the chairman the secretary was instructed to convoy the sympathies-of the board to Mr. A. H. Hindmarsh in his bereavement. The bank pass books showed a credit balance to current account of £35.999, to imprest account £2721, aud on fixed deposit £60,000. Payments amounting to £21,832 were approved. The chairman, reported -that in response to the board's request the Prime Minister had promised to do his best to facilitate the shipment in England of the machinery for tho Harbour Board's cheese store.
It -was decided to eroct gates and fences across the northern wharf, entrances, uniform with those already erected 011 the older wliarves.
