THE ARMY'S NEED FOR MEN PRESS COMMENT ON THE SUM, MONS TO DERBY' GROUPS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright ("Times" and Sydney "Sun" Services.) (Rec. February 22,'5.25 p.m.) London, February 21. His "Daily MaiP declares that the calling up of youths of nineteen and the significant hints that the married men will soon be drawn in may be taken as proof of the Army's urgent need of men, Tlio married men will not shirk tlioir responsibility when tho promises made by Mr. Asquith and Lord Derby have been fulfilled, but their pledges have been weakened by the tribunals' action in granting exemptions for the flimsiest reasons. It is_ expected that Lord Derby, who is responsible for the enlistments, will exert pressure in the right quarter, and so improve things, aud remove the impression that married incn were enrolled under false pretences. [Mr. Asquith's and Lord Derby's pledge to the married men was to the effect that those enrolling would not be called until the single-men groups had all been called up.]'
