TAINUI FOR LONDON. The departure of the Shaw, Savill, and Albion liner Tainui for London has been further postponed until Friday,' February 18, at noon. Bad weather in connection with the loading operations, has been the cause of the vessel's departure being delayed. Passengers should join the steamer on Friday morning, but tliird-class passengers arriving by the Napier and Now' Plymouth lines will be permitted to. embark on Thursday evening. ARAWA EIGHT DAYS LATE. Tho liner Arawa was eight days late in leaving London, according to advice received by the local agents. Consequently her final departure from New Zealand on her return journey to London has been postponed from April 6 until April' 12. The Arawa, whicli left Home on January 29, is due here on March Is. MAJLARI ARRIVES HOME. ' The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company were advised by cable yesterday that. the Ma.mari arrived Home on Tuesday, reporting "all well." Tho vessel, after loading at various port in the Dominion, 'left Auckland for London on Christmas Day. THE TARAWEKA. . The Tarawera, which sailed from Auckland' on Tuesday night, is due at Wellington on Friday morning. The vessel will discharge 453 tons, of cargo at this port, and wUI proceed to Lyttelton and Dunedin at 5 p.m. the saipe afternoon. WAIWERA. FROM . MONTREAL. The Waiwora, under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Company, arrived at Auckland on Tuesday morning from Mon-tri?-*U. She liias 11,000 tons of cargo for Auckland. She left Montreal on November a, ana called at Sydney, Cape Breton, for huiikers, on November 28. Heavy pales contined from hero for about five aays, when tho weather cleared to Cape Town,December 23.. The Waiwera left there on the following day for Adelaide, and with fair weather arrived at the Australian port jn January 19. Sydney was cleared for Auckland on February 3. Captain S. TONGARIRO DUE NEXT MONTH. • The Tongariro, loaded at Liverpool under the auspices of the F. and S. Line, should arrive at Wellington on Wednesday next, February 16. The vessel left Liverpool on December 6, and continued hor voyage ■ from Sydney on February 3. She was due at Auckland yesterday, .'and after discharging her northern cargo, wiU come on to Wellington, whero she wiU unload 3500 tons. DELPHIO FROM LIVERPOOL. Messrs. Dalgety and Co. advise that the Delphic, from West Coa6t of England ports, is expected to reach Wellington on February 23. The • stoamor cleared Liverpool on November 30, and has a large cargo aboard. INDRAPURA FROM .LONDON. The C. and D. liner Indrapura, from London, via Australian ports, Auckland, ■ Napier, and Gisborne,' should arrive in Wellington to-day. Discharge of the Wel- : lington portion of ■ the cargo will take until Monday, when the Indrapura sails for Wanganui. REGULUS TOUCHES A ROOK, i When the Anchor Company's steamer Regulus arrived in Nelson on Tuesday night, she reported that she had touched a rock in the vlcinty of Long Island. The vessel was floated, off without trouble, and she continued her journey to Nelson, apparently undamaged. Long Island is a pinnacle rock near Jackson.Head and the entrance . to Queen Charlotte Sound. The Regulus is a vessel of 585 tons gross, in charge of Captain Vickerman. It is understood that a preliminary inquiry was held in Nelson yesterday morning by the Collector of Cus- , toms, and that the papers will be forwarded to Wellington. OANASTOTA COMMANDEERED. Tho local agents of the U.S. and A. Lino; (Messrs. Dalgety and Co.) have been advised that the steamer Canastota, 4904 tons register, has been commandeered by the British Admiralty. Efforts to arrange a satisfactory charter have to da to been unsuccessful. The Oanastota was to have loaded at New Yorlt for New Zealand and Australia. BAEON OGILVIE. The Vaouum Oil Company's' Baron Ogllvio 'will arrive at Auckland on about March 20 with oil from Now York. She has, consequent upon the closing of the canal, had to come here via tie Cape, thus her arrival has been delayed. Slie wiU call at Dunedin, and there commence discharge of her oil, and calling at ports up the coast. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. ' , Captain Lobb, of tho Canopus, is to go ashore shortly on holiday leave, and will be relieved by Captain Venn, chief officer. Mr. F. E. Woods joined the Canopus on Tuesday as third officer. Mr. li. Startup, second offiper of the Talawa, now at Auckland, is well known in New Zealand, having been in the service of the Northern Steamship Company and Richardson and Company. Ha came out to New Zealand, with the Richardson steamer Mako. The steamer Ruru, of the Richardson Line, left Tokomaru Bay yesterday morn- ~~ ing with a consignment of cargo for J Messrs.
