There is said to be a possibility that ilic uniform worn by tlio tramway men in Christcliurcli will be changed from blno to dark grey (states an exchange). Consequent on tho difficulty of obtaining indigo dye, supplies of which have hitherto come from Germaiiy, tho price of blue material threatens to go up, and consequently a cheaper material will probably have to be selected. The Tramway Board is at present calling tenders for uniforms, but it is understood that _ considerable difficulty is being experienced in obtaining material, consequent on the military authorities having commandeered practically 7,0 per cent, of the output of tho Dominion's woollen mills for khaki. In view of the higher cost'of blue material, the board is calling for'alternative tenders for uniforms to be made'of dark grey material. A Press Association telegram from Christchurch_ stales that the Canterbury Patriotic Fund lias rlccided to be represented at the conference convened by the Minister of Internal Affairs.
