FRENCH RESERVISTS: CONCERT
His Worship the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), in arranging a programme of events for the French Reservists from Tahiti, during their stay in tliis city, was offered a concert by the men. The generous offer was promptly accepted by the Mayor, and the concert will be given on Wednesday next, at 8 o'clock, in the Town Hall. The Frenchmen have a, splendid knowledge of the South Sea Island dances and kakas, and a number of these itoms will be includedin the programme. The performers frill appear in native costume. A full band will play during the evening. The spelndid offer of the .men is expected to result in a substantial sum being hnded over to the Mayor's Wounded Soldiers and Sailors' Fund, for which object the concert is being given. "Ono shilling will admit to all parts of the hall.
