FRENCH RESERVISTS: CONCERT

His Worship the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), in arranging a programme of events for the French Reservists from Tahiti, during their stay in tliis city, was offered a concert by the men. The generous offer was promptly accepted by the Mayor, and the concert will be given on Wednesday next, at 8 o'clock, in the Town Hall. The Frenchmen have a, splendid knowledge of the South Sea Island dances and kakas, and a number of these itoms will be includedin the programme. The performers frill appear in native costume. A full band will play during the evening. The spelndid offer of the .men is expected to result in a substantial sum being hnded over to the Mayor's Wounded Soldiers and Sailors' Fund, for which object the concert is being given.
