WHAT IS RHEUMATISM?
It. is claimed by mcdical authorities that Rheumatism and its allied diseases is tho most prevalent of all human ailmentß, with, perhaps, tlie exception of lung troubles. The malady takes many forms, and differs much in its various stages of development. It may start with a derangement of tho liver or kidneys, due to a disordered Btomich, arising from exposure, improper food, or over-indulgence; or it may be caused by a thickening of the blood in a certain part of tho body, induced by expoeuro of tho part to cold or dampness. Tho blood becomes charged with impurities, and little granules form, which find lodgment in constricted portions of the veins, near tho joints and under cartilaginous bands or ligaments. Being viscid or sticky, these little granules stick together as they strike each other. One lodges in a narrow place in a vein. Another presently comes along and stiok6 to it. Then another and another, until the pile begins to press on tho nerves and causes pain. Bometimes the swellings assume huge dimensions, and one after another I the joints become cemented over until they are perfectly rigid. All this takes time, of course, and the victim suffers excruciating agony at the slightest attempt, to move. Many persons have an inherited tendency to this fell disease, and all such should be very careful of their diet and avoid constipation, which is a serious matter to rhcumatic constitutions. But however caused or whatever foTm it takes, the disease is a blood trouble, and can only be cured by the purification of the blood and the elimination from tho system of these ohemical deposits. Hitherto many victims have been con-, deraned to sufter for years and years, helpless cripples, until death relieved them of their Bufferings, because thero was no known cure for certain forms of the disease. But a remedy has recently been discovered in a most, remarkable manner, which has upset all tho calculations of the medical profession. A little book has been published describing the romantic discovery of this Cure, and giving copies of authentic letters from well-known people telling of some of the wonders it has accomplished. EVERYONE should have this book, because everyone is liable to contract Rheumatism any time, and should know how to get thiß Ouro at once. , .
