The Petrograd correspondent of the "Times" statos that unabated fighting continues on the Strypaand ai; Czernowitz. There is a heavy concentration of German troops in Galicia and Bukowina. Unofficial reports from South Poliesie state that a large sector was cleared of Austrians and Germans, and several miles of the enemy trenches are in Russian hands. The Austro-German front was pierced in many sectors, and the advance continues. The German losses from casualties and sickness were enormous. Pinsk has teen evacuated by the_eneroy,_ who fled to Charto panic-striken under the ceaseless shelling, discarding their rifles and cartridges, and their upper garments. The "Frankfurt Zeitung's correspondent at Czernowitz, describing the Russian attack, says: "The lieaveils were blood-red from the frightful cannonading. The Russian consumption of _ ammunition was astounding; they drenched our positions with fire and with a tremendous bombardment of the communications, submerged the Austrians with a barrier of fire, forcing thoni to surrender. The Russian infantry attacked in masses, as many as twenty columns sweeping onward simultaneously.
