THE BETRAYER OF NURSE CAVELL
ASSASSINATED IN THE STREET. Uy Telegraph—Press Awoelation-Copyrtßhl • London, January 14. The correspondent of tho "Daily Express" at Amsterdam says that the IJelgian spy, named Cels, who denounced Miss Cavell, lias been assassinated near Brussels. The body was found in a street with two bullet wounds in it. C-els, Hvho was formerly in tho Belgian army, had been- in German pay. He professed to help .Belgians to cross the frontier, but betrayed them. He was the only witness against Nurse' Cavell. Hundreds of Belgians swore that Cels should die, and a, number met in Brussels recently and elected an avenger. ' Tho Germans, in obedience to Baron von Bissing's (German Governor at Brussels) order, arc not attempting to find Cels's assassin. A SYDNEY MEMORIAL. REST HOME FOR NURSES. Sydney, January 15. It is proposed to raise a memorial in memory of.Nurse Cavell.. It will take the form of a Rest Home for nurses.
