WAIHORA AT AUCKLAND. The "Union Company's bis cargo-carrier Waihora arrived at Auckland from Calcutta, via Samarang, at 7.15 a.m. yesterday. She has brought transhipments ex the steamers Rong?la. TJmballa. and Querimba. An endeavour is bcins made to dispatch her for Wellington at noon tomorrow, and in that case the Waihora should be here ready t to commence unloading oil Monday morning. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captain J. Hudson, formerly master of the barque Hazel Craig, lias been appointed master of the s.s. Wollowra. The Hitter vessel has been purchased from the Adelaide S.S. Co., Ltd., by e company trading on the China coast. Mr. R. T. Crow, late chief officer of the Whangape, has been transferred to a similar position on the Aparima, vice Mr. Knowles, who has joined the Manuka, as chief. Mr.' A. H. Prosper, late of the l'e Anau, has filled the vacancy on the Whangape. . , . Mr. W. H. Mann lios signed on tho Komata as purser for the run to Westport. Mr. P. i Advice has come to hand that the "Union Company's new steamer Wailtawa (ex Kchlesien, ox Maritime) left Vancouver on Christmas Eve for San Francisco en route to Australian ports. The New Zealand Shipping Company s chartered steamer limerick arrived from Wanganui, and berthed at the Glasgow Wharf late yesterday afternoon. She has been fixed to clear this port for London on Saturday. , , Word lias been received to the effect that the steamer Anglo-Brazilian, which visited Wellington under the auspices of the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company during January, 1915, has been renamed Chepstow. She has been purchased by the Union Castle Company, of London. Tho American mail steamer Sierra is due at San Francisco from Sydney, via way porta, on January 24, and her mails are expcclctl to be delivered iji London about February 4. The vessel is scheduled to leave tho Californian port on tho return trip on February 8, and is duo at Sydney on February 29. Two steamers, the Arnno. 4484 tons. Captain Nordaunt, and tho Calliope, 3829 tons, Captain Webster, have been chartered by tho New Zealand Shipping Company to load iu New Zealand for London.
