Allotments By Soldiers. The following notice was issued at Rangiotu for general information:— "Allotments are purely voluntary, unless a man is endeavouring to evade his legal responsibilities. Where dependants are not concerned there is 110 need whatever for allotments to be made, in which case the deferred pay can accumulate in the books of tho Defence Department. A rifleman gets 2s. per day while on active service, tlie balance is deferred. If ho has anyone dependent on him in any way, ho must leave his 3s. or more to them, failing which renders him liable to two years' imprisonment, and his depondants can claim tho 3s. per day. N.C.O.'s and men cannot alloc more than ss. per day." Officers and Others: Major J. E- Batten has been transferred from B Company, 9th Reinforcements, to the Ist Infantry Reserve Company. . „ _ _ Captain H. S. N. Robmson, N.Z.S.C., is transferred from 3rd to 4th Battalion, N.Z.R.B. Captain H. W. Richardson, N.Z.S.C., is appointed Adjutant 3rd Battalion, N.Z.R.B.', vice Captain Robinson. Lieut. Potty, Chief Supply Officer, has arrived at Taiiherenikau Camp for duty. , • The undermentioned 15.C.0. s, having reported 'tJieir arrival at Trentliam, are attached for duty as under:—S.S.M. 0. Cameron, sth Regiment, has been appointed permanent camp quartermaster-ser-geant. Overstaying Leavo. It is notified at Rangiotu that men overstaying leave must refund cost of rail and steamer tickets where issued. This money will bo collected by company commanders and paid into the public account, and a statement with bank receipts forwarded to Battalion Headquarters.
