'•' '*• ROSS GOLDFIELDS.' Tho mine superintendent of the Boss Goldfield-s Reconstructed reports as follows on the work at the mine for..the fortnight ending December 23:—No. 2 east drive advanced 41 feet, in .low grade heavy wash, making a total progress of 1124 feet from No 2 shoot. At 1100 feet Iso. 19 north was started, and after advancing 10 feet tho wash improved in tho last 6 feet, so-that pay values might be expected. A small test rise went up for 8 feet above this drive, but disclosed nothing more than fair grade, wash. No. 17 north drive continued on 50 feet further, carrying 2 ieet of blue pay wash at the bottom, and holed through to the east branch off *o. 6 level. It is proposed shortly to make use of this connection for trucking purpose*, thus avoiding the present low level tramming through the mine drainage water, which hoi long been a &reat disadvantage, i Blocking is proceeding off Nos. 7 ana ll north drive, and 12 and 14 south drives. \The return from the mino is 14oz. lßdwt. | gf gold from 220 trucks.
