ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A soldier "named Forman, who was found unconscious in a street in tlio City on New Year's Eve, is still an inmate of the Wellington Hospital. A lifctlo boy named Gleorgo Holdswortli, residing «t Evans Bay Road, was admitted to the Hospital yesterday suffering from an injury to his foot. A SOLDIER'S DEATH. An inquest on the body of the soldier Pte. F. T. Patterson, found floating ■near Miramar Wharf on Monday, was held. yesterday beforo Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M. Deceased was identified by his two brothers. It appears that he ■was granted leave from the May Moru Camp on Christmas Eve, and was to have returned next day. He is stated to have been a steady, sober man, and wfls recently employed as engineer on various steamers belonging to the Union Steam Ship Company. Ho belonged to 0 Company, lltli Reinforcements. Thero was no evidence to sliow how deceased came to lie in tho water and a verdict of "found drowned" was returned.
