Cable advice lias bocn received by the head office of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company stating that R.M.S. Corinthic arrived at Hohart from London at 9 a.m. yesterday. The liner is due here on Sunday next, and after landing passengers aud mails -will proceed on to Auckland to commence discharge. ARAWA ARRIVES HOME. Advice was received in Wellington yesterday that R.M.S. Arawa, of the ShawSjaviiL fleet, arrived safely at London on December 11. The vessel left Wellington on October 25. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP.' The coastal steamer Defender is expected here towards tho end of the week troin LyUelton to load for Picton and Hokitika. It is probable that the schooner Houto, now discharging timber at, Miramar, will be engaged in the Hokianga-Wcllingtoii timber trade for some time. Leaving, here oil December 28, the Mokoia will proceed to Hobarl and Melbourne, and not to the latter port direct as previously announced. A full load of powder, ex the Kic Ora. and Waimarino, is being brought down from Auckland by the auxiliary schooner Huia. Her freight will be delivered at Wellington, Westport, Greymouth, New Plymouth, Nelson, Dunedin, and Lyttelton. The Union steamer Waihemo, bound from Sydney to Vancouver, arrived at Suva on Monday. The Kararnu arrived there from Onehunga on Sunday to load fruit" for Wellington. It was announced that the American schooner Golden Shore was coming to Wellington from Everitt, U.S.A. This is incorrect, as tho sailer is on her way to Lytteltou. •Last Sunday, the Paparoa, which is under charter to the F. and S. Line, arrived at Melbourne from Liverpool. Sydney and JEncltland will be visited before the ves ß el reaches Wellington about January 4. The 6tcamcr Century, under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Company, will arrive, at Wellington on December 27 from Brisbane. Ihe vessel will commence loading for Home here, and then, proceed to Napier, Gisborne, • Tokomaru Bay, and Auckland to complete. She will , leave tho northern port for London on January 9 The Orari is expected to sail for London either this evening or at daybreak tomorrow. New Plymouth cargo will be received bv the Corinna at Wellington till 3 p.m. today, and departure taken at 5 p.m. En route to Dunedin the vessel will make a call at this port on Friday next.. 1 Messrs.
