SUSPICIOUS FIRE
BLAZE AT DANNEVIRKE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Dannevirko, December 4. What looks like a case of attempted arson occurred early this morning; when a big wooden' structure in High Street, known as the Cafe de Paris, was cliscovered to be on lire. The brigade effected a good save,' but a good deal of internal damage was done. The building was owned by Mr. J. Westlake, of Pahiatua, and is insured for £1000 in the State Office. The Sumiture is owned by the late lessee, Mr. W. J. Rountree, and is insured for £150 in the • State Office. Indications point to the building being set on fire in two /places, but there is no evidence at present as to the perpetrator. Mr. Rountree had suspended business after the discovery of an incipient fire at 'the premises a few davs ago.
