ONSLOW BOROUGH COUNCIL
At last night's meeting of the Onslow ■ Borough Council the Mayor (Mr. C. C. Crump) presided, and there were also present: Councillors J. C. Gardner, A. W. C. Palmer L. At Browne, J. G. Smith, A. E. Budd, W. Appleton, J. M. Dale, and C. Bowdeu. A circular letter was received from the Petone Borough Council embodying certain resolutions, wliicih proposed, amendments to the War Pensions Act, 1915, and asking' the council to lend support to these resolutions and to the suggestion that a snecial session of Parliament should be held to deal with the matter. ■- On- the motion of Councillor Smitlli, it was decided to inform the Petone Council tliat the Onslow Borough had already given its support to the War league's proposals, but that it could not support the suggestion to call Parliament together. ' , Mr. T. Wainwright's letter, asking the council to order the removal of an obstruction off Winchester Street, Kaiwarra. was before the meetinjr. The ouestion had been occupying the attention of the council since August last. It was resolved that the Health Department should be asked to inspect the .building at an early date and condemn I it if necessary.
