A NIGHT ADVENTURE

TROUBADOURS IN TROUBLE. If the members of the "Charley's Aunt" Club do not know much about May Morn, they have a first-hand and most intimate knowledge of a wild, wet November night. Some of the members undertook to give a concert at 1 tho May Morn Camp on Monday evening, and leit town by mojor-car in good time tile same evening, but misfortune sat in the car with them, for whilst in a very deserted part of the Mutt Road tho machine refused duty, no amount of coaxing would induce it to budge. In this predicament it was decided to telephone to town for another car, but t'ime was getting on, and visions of five hundred expectant soldiers waitiijg for the party rose up before them. Eventually, a motorcycle with a trade sidc-car loomed up cut of the night, and the driver was aslced to take on to May Morn two of the performers, who would keep the fun going until the rest of the party arrived. Tho motorist was willing, anil away went the pianist and a cornelian through the rain. In due course another car buzzed out, and took the stranded minstrels on, arriving at the camp at about 9 p.m. To the surprise of everyone, it was at once discovered that the motor-cyclist's party had not turned up, and there was about twenty minutes' gloomy speculation as to thenfate before they put in a bedraggled appearance. In the dark they had taken a wrong road, and had to feel their way back to the camp.
