Private N. Lynch, of Auckland, who went to Egypt and the Dardanelles with the 3rd Australian Battalion, arrived from Sydney by the TJlimaroa yesterday. He was wounded in the left foot early in May—a_ few days after the landing—and now is enjoying three months' furlough before returning to the front, part of which time he intends to spend with his people in "Auckland. .

At the Customhouse yesterday morning, presentations were made to Messrs. B. W. Millier, W. v Weir, D. Lawrence, and Butler, of the local office staff of the Marino Department, on the eve of their departure for Trentham. He went to England with the object of joining the Royal Flying Corps, but owing to defective eyesight had to relinquish his probationary commission. Misa C. K. D.
