THE PURCHASE SCHEME. • A conference of representatives of 'the clieesc manufacturing industry was liold yesterday aftoriioon to 'discuss the purchase of New Zealand clieese by the Imperial Government. \ The Prime Minister informed 1 a reporter last- evening that'the result of tiho conference was qnitft satisfactory. '"The gentlemen present intimated ;to me," he said, "that they were.willing to fall in with the proposals of the Imperial authorities, and to help us in overy way to make theTarrangements a success. Just at present. cheese is soiling for a higher price than that offered oy the Imperial. Government, but they are prepared. to forego the difference, . and to do what they believe to bo their duty under the present circumstances.
