HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL

MONTHLY MEETING. At the monthly meeting of the Hutt County Council, held yesterday, there were present: Councillors' W. J. Howell (chairman), M. £Y. Welch, J. Whiteman, W. Galloway, J. Wukeham, and T. Edwards. Advice was received from the State Guaranteed Advances Office to the effect that the loan of tho £500 for the Waimii-o-mata Bridge had been granted.

It was decided to instruct the ranger not to refund .driving fees in the future.

Tho inspector of works (Mr. J. W. Cudby) reported that the roads had been considerably scoured by the recent storm, the most affected portion being tlho western side of the Epuni Hiding. The centre pier of the Belmont Bridge had carried away, but it was probable that this damage would be repaired by Thursday morning. Two culverts wore washed out on the Cot-tle-Normandale Road. 1
