HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL

The monthly meeting of the Hutt County Council took place oil Tuesday, Councillor W. J. Howell presiding. A letter was received from the Railway Department, requesting to be informed where it was desired that warning boards should be erected at level crossings. The matter was left in the hands of tho inspector with power to act. The Christchurch City Council wrote, suggesting that motor cycles should be required to carry two number platen, one in front and one behind. It'wasalso suggested that there should be a uniform system of registration throughout New Zealand. The council were in agreement with the suggestion. It was decided to complete the Pukerua-Paekakariki deviation. The balance-sheet showed that on the year's working there was a debit of £4558.
