'A WEEK OP HELL'.
FRENCH BOMBARDMENT FROM THE GERMAN SIDE. . By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rcc. October 13, 9.50 p.m.) London, October 13. 'A correspondent of tho "Daily Chronicle" who visited the German prisoners at the French Military Hospital at Val-de-Graca writes: "After hearing their story of the French bombardment I can understand tho awful expression of ter-. ror and delirium in these men's eyes.A young officer said that tho bombardment was a weolc of hell. The shells literally, burst everywhere, and oue could hardly hoar his neighbour shouting. Many went mad. Day and night we lay in our bomb-proof shelters. "Suddenly someone shouted: 'The French are over us!' We rushed out to tho remnants of the parapet. I fell, shot through the shoulder. Otters fell cvor me, wounded or dying. For tlireo hours I lay hidden under the bodies mid then worked myself free and surrendered to tho French. Of all the men in that trench I am the solo survivor.' "
