Hutt Waistcoat Fund. The Lower Hutt Waistcoat Committee collected £219 3s. 3d., which willing hands speedily converted into 719 leather waistcoats. The waistcoats cost £195 14s. lid. Sirs. Harris presented two waistcoats to the committee, bringing the number up t-o 721. These were forwarded to the Town Hall, auu were subsequently shipped io Egypt. With t'he balance nf .£23 Bs. ■Id.' the committee decided to mike 100 .waistcoats for the Bth Reinforcements.

The sale of work which was held in connection with St. Luke's Church, Wadestown, was opened yesterday afternoon in the club room by Viscountess Kelburn. Visitors were present from the City, and found much to tempt them upon the attractively displayed stalls, which included plain and fancy work, produce, sweets, flowers, kitchen requisites, and an afternoon tea-room.' The club room had been prettily decorated for the occasion. In the evening an entertainment was given.

On Saturday last a very enjoyable dance (to raise funds t-o assist our wounded soldiers at the front) was held in tho Railway Social Hall by a committee of public servants, consisting of Mrs. Masters, Misses Caddick, Q. and V. M'lnerney, and Messrs. Thomson, Andrews, Rogers, and Simpson. This is _ the third function held by this committee, and altogether just on £20 have been Taised and will be forwarded to tho Rev. Angus Macdonald in Egypt.

.' Mr. 0. A. Wilkinson, M.P. for Egmont, was quietly married on Monday morning to Miss Mabel Duncan at the house of Mr. H. Moyes, Eltham, states' the "Taranaki Daily News." The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Lowery, and the couple left immediately by motor-car to spend their honeymoon. '

At the Church of the Sacred Heart (Hastings) on Monday afternoon Miss Nellie Simmons, daughter of Mr. James Simmons of Hastings, was married to Mr. Clifford Robinson, of AVanganui, formerly of Manchester. The J.iev. Father M'Donald officiated. The brido was given away by her father, and was attended by her sister, Miss It. Simmons. Mr. Charles Carlson acted as best man.
