CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOB OUR BOYS It is only' a ,few days 'since."that it was discovered iii Wellington that in forwarding parcels' totroopers . at the front—parcels not specifically addressed —other centres had marked the cases, with. the particular company amongst; whom the goods were to be distributed, and it was understood that by sending our goods to the base at Alexandria for distribution amongst', the nien of tlie New Zealand Forces, the Wellington men'had suffered. For this reason the Christmas presents have all been packed ill cases and addressed to B Company, in order that there may be no chance of the Wellington men not pet-tins; the goods, intended for them. Up till last ovenirig 68 cases, containing an average of . 50 parccls, had been neatly packed, nailed up, and addressed ready for . shipment. . \ Amongst 1 the assignment are about a thousand specialty-addressed parcels. The rest are addressed variously or not at all. 'One parcel bore tlio direction '"To a lovely trooper," evidently from a voung lady. Several were directed:' "If this trooper is dead, please: transfer to another." . •• , The parcels contain such deleotable edibles as ! Christmas puddings and cakes. fancy biscuits, chocolates, lollies, tinned fish and meats, ' and, of course, the over-welcome pipes, tobacco, and cigarettes, and nearly every parcel contains Christmas . greetings and ' good luck" wishes. • _ .
