(By Telegra-ph—Special Correspondent.) Tlmaru, October 8. A disagreeable cugg in relation to the notification of casualties has occurred here. _ _ _ . The parents of Trooper R. H. Barton, of the Otago Mounted Rifles, Main Body, have had no news whatever or their only son, and supposed him to be alive and well. ' , This morning a cartor brought toitno house a' parcel with a tag attached, "Deceased, R.F.8., D/ 548." The parcel contaiued "a few personal and !lotter3 which tlie motlior and sister had. written to him. ■ . . .' Lacking *any preparation, th© receipt of the parcel with, such a tag gave the parents, especially the mother,.a great shock. - ' -■
