Biggs to the position of borough ranger as from October 18. • The report of the borough engineer (Mr. R.\S. ; Ilounthwaito) in regard to: the widening and improvement of ;the Main Read, Ngaio, was adopted.- Tho scheme provides .that in no'case will the width of the'carriage-way be less than 17ft. On the motion of . Councillor Budd, it was decided that,, in future, when road improvements are being effected in tho borough, , tli© engineer' be instructed ■that approaches to sections with residences thereon be improved in preference to vacant sections.
