Madame IVie? laejt, of Auckland, has been specially engaged to /undertake the title role, Mr; H. ni* ,? oen » oi Masterton (Philip), Messrs. Charlton and Clavkson', respectively,, tho partfc of Robert, and Jean. The cantata, is in opera style has attained considerable popularity among English societies, and has recently been much reon account of its martial character. Ihe Eeveiige" is Sir F. V. Stanford's choral masterpiece, aiid the famous Irish composer finds his forte in works of this character; Tennyson, in this hia inspired ponm, provided tho composer with the opportunity. , The: chorus are elsewhero notified that rehearsals commence at 7.30.
