DRYGOODS MANAGERS' ASSOCIATION
On sixteen managers, /representing most of Wellington's principal drapery establishments, formed an organisation, having as its., object the betterment in general of business feelings between the various managers themselves (business managers,'departmental managers, display managers, advertising managers), and - toward their employers' interests. Enthusiasm that promises mucli for ' tho' future of this organisation was shown by. those present, and it was. decided that the association would proceed immediately to make its objects widely known among all. managers employed in drapery' and clothing establishments throughout the city and other chief centres. An executive of. ten was appointed to report on progresf at tlio next 1 general meeting, to be held at an early date. Mr. W. H. Cox, business superintendent for C. Smith, Ltd., was elected secretary. •
On Wednesday evening tost Lieutenant C. I. Brown, of Fort Dorset, who is to be married shortly, entertained those members of his company, who were off duty. An entertaining programme was gone through, .and during the evening the members of the company presented Lieutenant Brown, with a handsome silver tray and tea and colfee service. Mr. and Mrs. Klee, of tho R.N.Z.A., were heartily thanked for the kindly assistance they had rendered in making the gathering the success it was.
