BRIGHT PROSPECTS FOR ANGLERS The 1 fishing season of 1915-16 opens this morning, and judging by the preparations Which have been made by. local fishermen the sport is riot to be neglected. Thanks to splendid rains, trith spells of beautifully clear weather in between, the prospects'.a 6 far as weather conditions are concerned promise to be perfect in the Wellington acclimatisation district, save, perhaps, in the Wairarapa, where the rainfall has not been so good. Capital reports have been received from Paliiatua, Rngitikei;. Palinerston, Taihape, Waikanae, Otaki, Hutt, and Waiirai. The fish' aro said to be. very plentiful. Very heavy stocking was done last year, .evidently with the best .results. This year Mr.' Stiller is liberating about a millionfry, 350,000 cf which go to the-"Wai-rarapa. _■ Reports have-been received that net poachers have been at work ■ in one quarter already, and extra vigilance will be kept with ihe'hope'of_catchiug them at their nefarious practices. Several members of the society have been empowered to act as :honorary rangers, in order to protect as much as possible the interests of license-holders. '
