PALOONA'S ROUGH PASSAGE. . A vary boisterous' journey of 30 hours' duration was experienced by. the Paloona, which arrived at Wellington at 8.40 p.m. last night from Auckland, "via way ports. After the vessel left Napier it encountered the full force -of a southerly gale and. a fewe minutes after clearing the breakwater .the vessel rolled and pitched in an alarming manner, while huge seas broke on board fore and aft almost continuously. Approaching Cape Kidnappers.the gale'increased in force, and Captain Norton immedaateely took the precaution of reduc-. ing'speed. Yesterday afternoon the condition© improved,-and the vessel reached port at 8 p.m. ARAWA DUE SATURDAY MORNING. Cabled advice has been received by. the' local office. of the Shaw-Savill Company that the Ara/wa left Hobart at 6 a.m. yesterday ; in continuation of her voyage from London to Wellington. This port should be reached Saturday forenoon. THE MAPOURIKA. The Mapourika,' which has been delayed on the West Coast by bad weather, arrived at Greymouth at 7 a.m. yesterday, and was expected to leave at 6 p.m. yesterday f9r.
