"Wellington was pitted against Wairarapa, and it was kuowu tlint if .the local girls succeeded in being victorious, or even making the game a draw, t'liey would stand "a fair chance of winning the tourney by meeting and defeating Poverty Bay to-day. Wellington was most unlucky in being defeated by a single goal, however, and consequently Poverty Bay gains pride of place. MANAVMTU—HAWKE'S BAY. After a fine open game Manawatu lad a deserving win over Hawke'6 Bay, whom they defeated by one goal to nil. Miss Kerslake was the scorer. Manawatu's centrcrbolf' played a fine game. Messrs, Carver and Louder wero the referees. . POVERTY BAY—WANGANU I. AVanganui suffered their sixth and final defeat in the' tourney at.tho hands of Poverty Bay. The final score was: Poverty. Bay, 5; AVang<inui, 1. Misses F. llill (3), Malcolm, and Bate wero the scorers . for the winners, ..and Miss D. Perritt for Wanganui. The Tefereeswcre Messrs. Lloyd and Murpliy.
