UMMAUOA ARRIVES 9 i A.II. According to wireless advice received from Captain Wyllie, of the Huddart-I'ar-kcr steamer TUtmaroa, ho expected that vessel to arrive at Wellington from Sydney direct at 9 a.m. to-day. She will berth at the Qutm's Wharf No. 2, and. after visiting Lyttolton will return to Wellington in time to sail for Sydney and Hobart on Thursday next.
lONIC'S PINE STEAMING RECORD. What is said to be a record performance has been put up by the big White Star liner lonic (Captain Davies) on. the run' down the coast from Whangarci to. Wellington. Tlie distance between tho two ports is, roughly, 600 miles, and the. big mail steamer cut it out in the particu'axly fast time of 421 hours at an average speed of 14.1 knots. The lonic caino out from Liverpool to New Zealand, via. Suez, and has visited Auckland and Whangarei to' load frozen meat. She arrived here on .Saturday morning, and will bo dispatched for London, via Sydney, on Thursday next.
The Huddart-Pailier steamer Eiverlna or- | rived at Wellington from Dunedui and Lyttelton at 10.20 p.m. on Saturday. She will be dispatched for Sydney, via Auck-J land, this afternoonBound from Calcutta, via Sydney, to South American ports, the steamer Naneric arrived in the stream, at "Wellington at 10 a.m. on Saturday lor the purpose of taking in a. supply of bunker coal. She continued her journey at 7.20 a.m. yesterday. Cooil is being loaded by the Karori at Newcastle this week for Picton and Wellington. The Kauri will also load there this week for Lyttelton. A. cargo of eu'gar will be brought.,to Auckland from Fin by tho Kurow next week. The Union steamer Navua, which was duo at Auckland from Suva last evening, had 48 saloon and 33 steerage passengers on board. After landing 3400 tons of London cargo at Auckland the 0. and D. liner Hawke's Bay will proceed to Jfapier and Wellington. She is due herd about September 22. A projected departure from Newcastle to-day id tho 0. and D. liner Port Albany. She will visit Auckland, Napier, Wellington, and Lyttelton to pick up frozen meat cargo for Home. _ , , T .
