ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
DEATH FROM PNEUMONIA'. An inquest was held before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., in the Magistrate's w>urt yesterday into the death of a Maori child named Makiuni Koroneho, slid aged 20 months, who died suddenly at the residence of its parents, 33 Wellington Terrace, on Thursday. Dr. Hamilton Gilmer gave evidence to the effect that the child died from pneumonia. A. verdict was returned accordingly by tho Coroner. TROOPER'S ILL-LUCK. Troop er Collins, in camp at Trentham, had the misfortune to break his right leg below the knee at Trentham last night. The accident was oaused b.v the injured man misjudging the width of a ditch which he had attempted to jump. He is now.in the Wellington Hospital. SHOOTING FATALITY. Our Napier correspondent reports that at Twyford, yesterday afternoon a Maori boy named Pomare Paerata, a ®ic Jh'rtseei). accidentally shot himself whilst playing with a revolver, and died , shortly afterwards, the bullet having entered his brain.
