MINER'S CONFERENCE
NATIONAL REGISTRATION BILL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christcfiurch, ;September 10. ■ A conference of delegates from the different miners' unions-of the Dominion opened at tile Trades Hall at 10 a.m. to-day.' It was decided not to admit the Press. Members of tho conference were welcomed to'Christchurch.hy Mr. C. Renn, president of. the Canterbury Trades and Labour Council. The .Puponga Miners'. Union, by 64 votes to 5,' decided to affiliate with ,the Miners' Federation. Tho following resolution was passed: this conference of delegates representing coal miners' unions at Huntly, Kaitangata, Nightcaps, Green Island, To Awatea, Homebush, Millerton and Stato Mines, Stockton, Denniston,: Paparoa, Blackball, and Waroliui, emphatically protests' against the National Registration Bill. We consider that tlio questions in Clause 4 aro impertinent, and submit' that the Bill is a form of conscription, and an insidious effort to strike at the liborty of tho people, and, further, we declare that-it interferes with the sanctitv of tlio home, and' permits of discrimination. '
