REAWAKENING
VESUVIUS. STROMBOLI; AND ETNA London, August 13. Etna, Stromboli, and Vesuvius aro reawakening. Two new craters have formed on Etna. Immenso clouds of steam and smako aro issuing, and three lava streams threaten to destroy the English casino at Messina. Taranto states that thirty-seven earthquakes have been registered in tho region of the lonian Isles since Saturday. [There have been numerous disastrous eruptions from Vesuvius. The more recent ones were in 1906. In April of that year a church collapsed at San Giuseppe, and about 2CO people vrero killed, and the village of Ottajauo was completely destroyed, 250 lives being lost. A new crater opened, and tho observatory and Cook's railway were destroyed. There was a slight eruption in 1909. Stromboli is almost constantly active. In 1852-53 Etna, was in violent eruption for nine months, when a torrent of lava, six miles long by two broad and somo 12ft. in depth was ejected. There were great eruptions in L 879, 18S6, 1892, and l&lO.j BURIAL OF A PRIEST AN INCIDENT IN IRELAND. By Telegraph—Pices Association—Conjrrijlit London, August 13. Owing to the sinaljness of the church the Archbishop of Tuani directed that the burial a of the late Father O'Toole should talie place outsido the church at Westport. The parishioners vainly protested that his predecessors had had burial within the church. At nightfall they exhumed the body, and reburied it within tho building.
