RECENT NAVAL BATTLE
GERMAN WARSHIPS DAMAGED 9y Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. August 15, 3.5 p.m.) London, August 14. Router's correspondent says it is unofficially reported in Petrograd that in the naval battle near Ossel on August 12, a large Gorman cruiscr was destroy, eel and several warshins were damaged severely. It is surmised the enemy's purpose was to bottle up the Russian Fleet in ■ the Gulfs of Finland and Bothnia. ' GERMAN VERSION OF THE FICHT. (Rec. August'ls, midnight.) Amsterdam, August 14. A telegram from Berlin says it was merely outpost fighting at Ossell, between destroyers, the Russian being successfully shelled, and hastily retreated. '
