Another detachment in the meanwhile occupied on important group of Alpine communications westward of Fortyella Ceritgia .Our . batteries on the ,'lsonzo havo started a destructive lire .against the defences of Plezzo Valley. Direct hits were' obtained against ' tho battery, which was skilfully hidden in caves. Some of "'tho enemy _ entrenchments fronting ua at Mcmteseibusi were shat* tefed, and many of the occupants took tp flight and were killed by shrapnel and rifle, lire. AUSTRIAN SUBMARINE SUfJK. The 'Austrian official version of the bombardment cabled on August 11 says: "We heavily bombarded four factories, igniting one; we shattered tho tramway viaduct at Molfetta, and burned to the ground several depots. At Sanspirito we bombed the signal station and five factories, igniting one, causing a panic among the, population of Baru. We badly damaged the railway viaduct at fiaugiovio.
