—~ MAIN TRUNK LAND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Kaliahl, August 12. 'A ballot for land situated near Kakahi commenced at 1 p.m. to-day. For Uvcntv-0110 sections there wore 5800 applications by 750 applicants; !i small proportion woro rejected. ■ . On account of tlio largo liumbor of applicants only six sections wero ballotted to-day, the remainder will bo ballotted to-morrow. Tho following woro to-day's results:— Section 8, Block 6, 62 acres 3 roods, 116 applications,' G, 0. Oldham, Kakaln; Section 15, 92 acres, 289 applicants, Mary Stoveris, 'Owhango 16, 96 acres 3 roods, 289 applicants, .Annie Gregory, Kakahi; Section 18, 101 acres, 450 applicants, F. Thompson, Ohakuno; Section 20, 100 acres, 520 '.applicants, A. E. Parker, Sanson; Section 22, 108 acres. 532 applicants, A. Anderson, Mount Brucu, Mastorton.
