Such was a recommendation to' the- City Council last night by the Reserves Committee. Councillor Barber said that tho committee might meet the Labour; 'Day Committee if they offered • half tho gross receipts, but they 'should protect the publio when "net" proceeds were spoken of. Councillor Luckie ' said- that .in some of these cases where; the council had forgone their charge the proceeds had been eaten up in management expenses, .find the relief funds did not benefit. Councillor Hutcheson moved as an 'amendment that "the concession-should be' made provided' at least £20 was donated to the War Distress Fund. The clause was amended in;tbat direction, and carried.
