CEREBROSPINAL MENINGITIS
TROOPER TAKEN FROM A TRAIN. (By Telegraph.— I , rn c( : Danrievirke, August 4. As an express train passed through Dannevirko yesterday, a trooper, Trooper Robert Robinson, 011 leave from Waikanae Training Camp, going to Gisborne, had to be taken therefrom ana admitted to t'he Dannevirko Hospital, where he was found to be suffering from cerebro-spinal meningitis. Tho Health Department issued instructions for tho isolation of the contacts, and steps are being taken to prevent tho spread of the disease. The invalid's condition is said to bo very serious. Privato Robinson's comrades on the train state that Robinson was ill when at the Waikanae Camp, but declined to report himself sick, being afraid ho wouldlose hia leave. Ho concealed his condition from the authorities, and began to get rapidly worse as soon as' he left camp.
