ONSLOW BOROUGH COUNCIL
The ordinary, meeting of the Onslow Borough Council was held last night. There were present:—The Mayor- (Mr. C. C. Crump), and Councillors J. C. Gardner, A. W. C. Palmer, L. A. Browne, C. Bowden, J. G. Smith, \V. Appleton, A. 12. Budd, and J. M. Dale. On the motion of Councillor Budd, it was decided that the Public Works Committee consider the question of a sanitary service for the borough. Permission was srranted to the Young Girls' Patriotic Entertainment Committee for free use of the Khandallah Hall on August 14, and the patronage of the council" was accorded to the entertainment.
On the recommendation, of the Works Committee it was decided to instruct tho council's road foreman to endeavour t-o impound sheep he reports to be at large ni the catchment area.' Another •recommendation of the same committee, which was adopted, was that the trees on the catchment ridges planted last year bo attended t-o. replacements made, and some further planting done. The matter of considering tho question of office premises for the council was left to the Works Committee to deal with, Councillor Brown giving notice of motion that the committee consider the advisability of removing the offices to Onslow. It was decided to proceed against a ratepayer for allowing his stock- to be at largo on Victoria Track on several occasions lately. District fund accounts amounting to £245 13s. 3d. were passed for payment. Mr. F. G. Ell was appointed to the position of borough ranger. '
