~7— —+— In a lengthy letter to the editor, Mr. R. C. Renner, honorary secretary of the Sailors' Friend- Society, traverses the correspondence between himself ,_and Mr. Powles, secretary of- the Missions ' to Seamen,, as to the. payment to be made f fo'r : the furniture }>aken over by tho Sailors' Friend'Sociaty. In the final letter from Mr. Powles quoted it is stated that the offer to accept £160 for the furniture is! withdrawn-because of new stipulates- made by the''Sailors' Friend Society,' and "failing ! adequate 'action 011 the part of your committee before the end of the present month'my committee will be obliged to take possession of and remove the furniture." In his reply Mr. Renner said: "It appears to, my committee that there is-no solution of the matter other than the handing over to you of the furnlure belonging to your society, now: in the, Mission building."
