Richmond Free Kindergartens. - ' Tlio 104 th meeting of the Richmond Free Kindergarten Council was held tHiis week. Mrs. Gill (president) was. in the chair, and there were present: Mes- ' dames D. A. Ewen, Dixon, Vickery, Mallet, M'Laren, Coward* Clark, J. Anderson, R. Smith, Moran, Misses. England, Newtown, and Hiscock. It' was proposed by Mrs. Mallet, seconded bjV Mrs. Dixon, that in future all council meetings bo hold at tho Taranaki ■ Street School. At Brooklyn a successful - euchre party and dance, arranged' by: tho sub-committee, was held in Juno. . Tho proceeds wore voted towards-the piano fund. Tho Newtown'sub-commit, tee are arranging a children's demon-i stration aud sale of work, and at Mara* nui a children's "At Home" is to be ' held during August. It was proposed by, ; Miss Hiscock, seconded by Mrs,, Bur-i nett.—"That. each school keep their biscuit money, it to be handed to the' local treasurer to bo spent as the local. . ■ committee? think fit." It was-proposed ; by Miss England, seconded' by Mrs/ ■ M'Laren: —' That Mrs. Henry Smith' bo 1 elected as a member of the Executive--1 Committee." Farewell Tea for the Nurses. .Yesterday afternoon the Council of the _ Wellington Trained "Nurses' Asbo-' ciation entertained tie nurse's who are leaving with the Hospital .Ship at an afternoon tea which was held' at tlio Nurses' Residential Club in Kensington Street. The guests, as they arrived, were received by the vice-president, Mrs. Porter, and by Miss Craig, matron of the club, and as many 'of; the nurses had brought friends with them the rooms soon overflowed with thoir numbers. The folding dooi-s between tha club room and the dining room were thrown back and everywhere were quantities of beautiful white and yellow narcissi which /had been sent in from the Hutt. The party was a very cheery affair, and tlio nurses were constantly meeting with old friends with whom, perhaps, they had trained, and whom they had not seen again till that moment. Naturally such meeting added to the pleasure of the afternoon. Tho singing of' two of the litirses who are leaving, Nurses Tucker and ' Adams, was greatly enjoyed. Tea was set in air adjoining .room, jthe decorations again being of narcissi with lycopodium,' aud assisting with it' were several of the nurses from St. Helens Hospital. Mrs. Porter'wore a groy tailored costume, and l -grey liat,_ and Miss Craig was in a navy blue silk dress trimmed with vieux rose. Among thoso who were present 'were: Mrs. Kendall, Mrs. Young, Mrs. -M'Donald, Mrs. M'Lean,' Mrs. .A'. A. Thompson, and .Miss Inglis, all of whom are members of tho Council; also Miss Bellingliam from Auckland, Mrs., Maf'tyn-Dawson, Mrs. Clarence Turner, Sirs. Gibbs, Jliss Bipkriell, Miss Agnes M'Lean, Mts. Callender, Mrs. Fortescue-Wrigkt, and many other friends, as well as the nurses themselves. Dr. Young, president of the association, arrived later in fjie afternoon. A Farow'eli Presentation. At tho farewell tea whiclf was given by the council of the Wellington Train-ed-Nurses' Association at the Nurses' Residential Club in Kensington Streot yesterday afternoon,. the • opportunity was taken.of presenting the. president, Dr. Young, with a very handsome travelling rug. . Mrs. Porter, vice-presi-dent, 011 behalf of the council).made the presentation,, and in doing.so, spoke of the valuable'work for the association which had been done by Dr. Young,'who had the welfare of the nurses at heart, and of the great regret which was felt by the council, and nurses at his resignation and coming departure 'for Europe. - - Coronation Bair Prize-winners. The four one guinea prizes presented by Messrs. Stewart Dawson and Co.. for the best faiicy dress, lady and gentleman, and 'thernostoriginiil costume, also lady and, gentleman,' at iho recent coronation ball, have been awarded as follow Ladies, Miss King, "Old Dutih Cleanser," and Miss E. O'Brien, "Maori Wahine aud.Child." Gentlemen: Mr. Isles, "Fra Diavolo," and Mr. Glenham,' "A Living Lamp." .
