ORGANISING WELLINGTON WOMEN (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ChristchurcH, July' 9. Tlio secretary of the New Zealand Volunteer Sisters' Association/ -which lias been organised for the purpose of sending sonsible, capable women of nursing and general household experience to the military camps, will be in Wellington next Tuesday for the purpose of organising the Wellington women. Miss E. A. Rout, of Christchurch, is acting as organiser and secretary, and applications can bo addressed to iher, care of the Health Department, . Wellington. These -will be considered next week, and contingents of -women picked from them. All applicants must pass tho hoii. medical adviser for tho Volunteer Sisters ih Wellington, namely, Dr. J.' M. Mason. Dr. Mason to-day telegraphed to tho sec-' retary that ho -will gladly help the Volunteer Sisters' scheme m every possible way. The Volunteer Sisters from Canterbury already in camp now number twenty-two, including soveral trained nurses -who hav,e .voluntarily sacrificed financial advantages and professional status for the purpose of signing oil under tho Volunteer Sisters. No woman will bo accepted unless willing to sign on to do all aud every d-uty imposed uponher by those in authority. Applications accompanied by testimonials should be sent in as soon as possible- Applications already received from the North Island (posted to Cliristchurch) -will bo included in the applications sent in iu Wellington.' The organising of the Wellington'women is in furtherance of an agreement made b.v the secretary with tho Director of Military Hospitals .when in Trentliam last Wednesday. It was agreed that, all Volunteer Sisters should bo. over thirty years of - age, except those who were trained nurses, and both married and unmarried women are taken.
