DETAILS OF THE FIGHTING. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, June 30. Tho Press Bureau gives details of the recent operations on Lake Victoria Nyanza. One British, force ivent in steamers from Kisurnu, which is 240' miles from Bukoba, and another from the. Kagera River, through thirty miles of swampy country. The combination of the attacks was of the most difficult nature, but it. was successfully accomplished. ,The attack wis completed on June 22, and the fortified houses and other defences of Bukoba were destrowed. The enemy was reinforced during the action, bringing his' strength to 400 rifles. They offered the most determined' resistance, the Arabs especially fighting with the utmost bravery, but they wero heavily outnumbered. Eventually the whole force fled, utterly demoralised. The casualties are not known, but the British fouud sixteen killed and thirty wounded.
Our losses wore ten killed,' and two officers and twenty-five men wounded.
